31 October – 2 November, 2014, Wuxi, China
The First Pacific Optimization Conference (POC2014), to be held from 31st October to 2nd November 2014 in the beautiful city of Wuxi, China, is beingjointly organised by Jiangnan University, China and Curtin University, Australia.
POC2014 is a continuation of the highly successfulSino-Japanese Optimization Meeting (SJOM) conference series. The first five SJOM conferences were held in Hong Kong (2000), Kyoto (2002), Singapore (2005), Tainan (2008) and Beijing (2011). Atthe last SJOM held in Beijing, China in October 2011, the SJOM Steering Committee decided to change the title of the SJOM conference series to Pacific Optimization Conferenceto reflect the wide geographical distribution of the participants of these conferences.
POC2014 aims to provide a forum for scientists, researchers, software developers, and practitioners to exchange ideas and approaches, to present research findings and state-of-the-art solutions, to share experiences on potentials and limits, and to establish new avenues of research and development, on all issues and topics related to optimization and optimal control as well as their applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
· Optimization theory, methods and applications
· Linear, convex, nonlinear and conic optimization
· Discrete, non-smooth, global and stochastic optimization
· Variational inequality and complementarity problems
· Optimal control theory, methods and applications
· Risk modelling and robust optimization
· Applications of optimization in engineering, science, finance, and management
