讲座内容：

The past fifty years has seen some enormous changes in medicine and surgery. Surgery is both a science and an art and by necessity is very practical. The changes in the way it is practiced are therefore twofold: firstly as our understanding of disease processes changes and secondly as the technology changes.

The way we teach our junior surgeons has to keep pace with these changes and we are in many ways fortunate in that there are accompanying changes in the way we can transfer information - this allows us to potentially communicate in a much more efficient way. It is essential that we utilise these advances to maximum benefit.

One of the most significant of these changes is internet based video. This presentation will highlight the traditional surgical teaching methods of the post-war era, the present day methods but importantly how we can harness things such as internet based video in the teaching of our young surgeons.
